People Change...

I remember when I was a teenager and it was not really that long ago.  But, I remember that when I was young I had several friends and I remember saying that I would always be there for them.  I also remember that I believed that many of them would supposedly  be there for me.  Time has proven otherwise.  When you´re young you tend to think that the world around you revolves around your friends.  In my opinion, now that I´m a little older and wiser I find that many friends develop relationships out of convenience.  If having a relationship with someone or being their friend because you want to get personal gain, then you´re a really shallow person.  A lot of times people look to see what it is that they can get from a person or what might benefit them if they are in the relationship.  I believe that it is wrong to think that way.  It´s not right to have this mind set.
Like I said, in the past I had many friends, or so I thought.  However it turned out that many of my so-called friends used me because there was some sort of benefit in being my friend.  I either had reliable transportation, money, or something else.  I know now that I could have saved myself a lot of heartbreak if I would have been more selective with certain people.  We, however want for others to like and accept us regardless.  Sometimes we allow people to control us or walk over us because we want to gain their respect or admiration.  What you might gain is being a push over.
Don´t let people do this to you.  Never let people take advantage of you and don´t allow yourself to be friends with someone out of convenience.  It´s not worth it.  Those aren´t the people to trust anyways.  You want someone in your life who unconditionally values you as a person.  They don´t spend time with you or love you because it´s convenient for them.  As time passes by you will realize that life changes and life will keep changing you.  Time is the revelation of all sincerity and deception.
